The Vision, Story and Plans of Roaring Wind Foundation

Dear Brother(s)/Sister(s) in Christ,

It is a great privilege for me to greet you with love on behalf of  Roaring Wind Foundation, Hungary. With this information we would like to give an insight to other members of the Body of Christ into a portion of what God is doing in this part of the earth, because we believe that there is only one Bride of the Lamb and we can accomplish our Father's universal plans only together. The ministries at different places ultimately are connected to one another. So it's good to know what the others are doing. This story, at some points maybe a little personal in tone, but it can serve as an encouragement, too, since it reveals God's wonderful ways.

The Beginnings

Roaring Wind had its conception in 1990 after a Christian group of about 20 people attended the Lisbon EURO-FIRE Conference. We have known the ministry of the team of evangelist Reinhard Bonnke and the character of  EURO-FIRE Conferences since '87 when another group of believers attended the first event like that in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. Several of our brothers and sisters returned home from there totally renewed or healed and began to see things in quite a different way. They bought some of the video tapes of the Conference in the original German and English languages, of course. After they came home other members of their Churches began to watch the tapes marvelling: "Can Christianity be like that?" They watched the cassettes in groups as VCRs and colour TV sets were rare at that time; everybody brought something, they connected the equipment and watched the programs with great zeal. Among the audience there always had to be somebody who could translate the essence to those present. As there were only these few copies available, very few people could get acquainted with these materials. But those, who got to know them, were greatly impressed by them. We that were among the lucky ones who saw the tapes, felt that everybody should know them. But for anybody, anywhere, anytime, to be able to enjoy them the Hungarian translation has to be on the tape itself.

In Lisbon we deliberately bought the whole Conference on video. The sessions that were recorded only on audio we bought on audio. After we returned we did what we had planned before: a technician and an interpreter came together. Brothers supporting the idea lent their VCRs, we put stereo mikes on a stand, we mixed the original sound with the Hungarian dubbing via an audio deck. We put a sign on the doorbell: "Don't ring, don't knock! Dubbing in progress! Thank you!" We hid the phone under a blanket. One VCR played the program, the other three or four recorded the Hungarian version. Without any previous education or practice in this area the work began. The technician brother worked in three shifts at that time at his workplace. When he worked at night we "dubbed" during daytime. He made great sacrifices. The blank tapes were always bought by the people who wanted a copy of the program or by those who had money at the moment. The translated cassettes were not of hi-fi quality as we worked in VHS but they poured blessing, the anointing spread through them. Several people were healed watching them! We realised that if just these members of these few Churches were happy with these cassettes, then the whole of Hungary would be, moreover the Hungarians living beyond the borders of Hungary and the other peoples of the ex-Communist East-Europe, too, if they only could get to know them in their own languages. But we knew that we could only work on such a scale and involving such large areas, officially, legally well founded and in commercial quality. Finally, after much discussion, thinking, prayer and many attempts Roaring Wind Foundation was born on 5th May 1992. The name was first pronounced by one of our first fellow-workers so naturally and spontaneously that it could only come from God. We couldn't have found any better name ever since, it so well expresses vitality and longing for doing the perfect will of the Holy Spirit.

We asked CfaN for permission and SVHS master tapes and we received them by a miracle, because we've learned since then that even Christian organisations don't easily grant things like that. Today we have prospering business relationships with several other Western Christian ministries and these days other, hopefully fruitful, co-operations are beginning between other organisations and Roaring Wind. We are looking forward to receiving answers to our inquiries from several more publishers. We trust God's guidance; we believe we have to enter the doors He opens and if He doesn't open one we'd better not break it in (but it doesn't mean we have to give up when the enemy hinders a relationship. We have to listen to the Holy Spirit carefully.) We think these kinds of relationships are sealed in heaven, too, and they fit into the Lord's cosmic plans. We are grateful to our Father when He makes us favourable in the eyes of others.

Why do we consider this work important? In the previous decades Western Christians undertook lots of dangers, risks, difficulties and sacrifices in smuggling Christian literature beyond the Iron Curtain besides of food, clothing and medicine. We are very grateful to God for their devoted hearts as their service meant spiritual survival for those living here. We ask God to reward them all abundantly here on earth and then in His Eternal Kingdom, as well! But through their activity Christian books were available only in limited numbers, only a few people got them, and the majority of believers, even at the time of the collapsing of the Iron Curtain, just tried to endure life on earth until we get to heaven. Many people didn't know what Redemption really involves, let alone joining God's powerful army where the soldiers know their Commander in Chief, their own position, the enemy with his strategies and where to receive proper training about the use of their weapons so they don't run round in circles all the time but break forward, spread God's Kingdom and dispel darkness with our Lord's authority and in His name. In the countries of the "free world" lots of Christian teachings were available in print and on audio and video tapes for the training of soldiers that we could only dream of in the ex-Communist countries. When the doors opened and we ourselves could publish things like that here, we had a backlog that is impossible to cope with but the best of the materials we have to put in the believers' hands, on one hand for them to "have life and have it abundantly", on the other hand for them to be able to fulfil their calling better. On top of all this in the ex-Communist countries, perhaps more than in other places, in the past decades a lot of people got totally estranged from faith as generations grew up in the atmosphere of radical atheism that penetrated all spheres of life from education to culture. With the new ideology gaining territory the solid earth on which people could have built their lives slipped from under their feet.  They became lonely as love grew cold. They couldn't find the ultimate meaning of life. As somebody put it so well: "Their God was taken away and they received nothing instead". Real problems of real people have to be really solved. We know the answer and "woe to us if we don't proclaim the gospel"!

In our official period so far we've published about 20 books, more than 40 CfaN videos and six by Dove Ministries, New Zealand, and we've released seminars of two German Ministries dubbed into Hungarian, too. We have about 20 programs by Derek Prince and we relesed a 17-part audio series about the 40/70 Window prayer movement, a 26-part DVD set on prophetic intercession and more than 30-tape collection of 4 pastors’ conferences in Germany and at Budapest. We have 17 programs of the International Curriculum. Within a deep cooperation with BLAST Ministries we have published in Hungarian many recordings of events where apostle Alan Vincent and Franz Lippi minister, including 7 Schools of the Word, 8 courses of a ministry training school, many seminars held in Hungary and the list is not ended. Besides we have several programs recorded in Hungary. We have even more other programs in store, waiting for dubbing, as God has opened these doors for us. Several of the mentioned programs consist of two or more tapes. Our publications cover a number of areas of Christian life and biblical teaching: besides evangelistic messages they speak about prayer, faith, healing, the believers' authority, God's will for women, marriage and other relationships, handling money, discipling, strategic leadership etc. One program exposes the influence of the New Age Movement on different facets of life. It is especially significant because the freedom we received some years ago gave way not only to the gospel but to every kind of other ideologies, philosophies and religions, too. That's why Christians have to step from under their shelters and proclaim the straightforward truth radically as human lives are at stake. Let alone the sad fact that even in certain circles there is frightening ignorance of the different spiritual dangers. The main focus of our publications is revival and community transformation. We published the two Transformations videos in Hungarian, too.

Besides our own initiatives we paved the way of severalChristian ministries to Hungary that have become independent by now.For example we published the first books of the Alpha Course in Hungarian.

During the last years we began to switch from the traditional formats (video and audio tapes) to digital formats (DVDs, CDs and mp3s). Many materials can be downloaded from our website free of charge.

The background

It's interesting to mention that we borrowed money for the publishing of our first video program and book and we were able to give it back due to God's wonderful provision. Another brother has lent us part of the printing costs of the third book as he considers it so important. For years we copied our video tapes with borrowed VCRs, only the SVHS master video belonged to the Foundation but by now God has developed our equipmens so we only work with our own stuff in terms of computers, our DVD recorder, our readio mikes and our CD/DVD burning tower. We are very grateful to God for all of the brothers who support our work. We depend on God's provision for these sums that are so great for us. At the beginning we did not suspect that this work would increase this much.

During the first 11 years of our work the Foundation ‘lived’ with us in our flat but it began to grow so big that eventually we decided we had to move. Although it was humanly impossible, God joined us with a sister and a relative so we could sell three flats and buy one estate with three buildings one of which became the office. After we made that place ready and moved in our work seemed to explode. Only God knows what will become of us. Our responsibility is to listen to Him, undersand His will and do it.

Further plans

We have begun to digitalize all our video and audio programs to keep up with time. If the beed arises and God provides the co-workers and the finances we would like to dub the same programs into the languages of the neighbouring nations or to co-operate in this work with other similar ministries in their countries if there are any. The scripts of several programs are already being translated into several of these languages. Additionally if God provides what it takes we would like to reach with the all-inclusive message of the gospel two groups of society that are left out of many things because of their very situation: besides the audio versions of our video programs we desire to provide the blind with the texts of books unfolding the gospel in an anointed way recorded onto audio cassettes or CDs in the greatest possible amount and variety. To do this, of course, we need more fellow-workers than we have at the moment, as well as for the second project, that includes creating a special version of our videos where in a corner of the screen somebody would "interpret" the whole program into sign language or we would subtitle the whole message. We need specially trained and devoted fellow-workers for this work but we trust God that as He's assigned the proper people so far He will do it in due time in the future, too. To accomplish all these plans we have to invest a lot of money that is, humanly thinking, out of reach for us at the moment and in the near future. But we always utilise the modest but constantly improving technical "talents" we have. We don't wait to begin the work until we have everything possible, because we have learned that if God can see that we use the things at our disposal from the first moment to His glory, that is we are "faithful with a few things", then He will "put us in charge of many things". To accomplish the amount of work listed above, we would need full time fellow-workers, as well, but at the moment we can't think of employing anybody; we are happy when we have the funds to go on with our work without greater disturbances. The five main fellow-workers serve in Roaring Wind after eight or more working hours at their job, in their "spare time", as a service to God. Occasionally we sign contracts with specially educated brothers or sisters for different tasks but their honorarium is far below the usual rates, too, so their contribution can be regarded as service. We are very grateful to God for His soldiers and servants who dedicate their very selves to Him without restrictions in the battle. The Lord has called together a wonderful team, each member is a gem in the King's crown. We are sure they'll receive great rewards.

We could still speak about a lot of details, about memorable personal stories during the years, but the main purpose of this writing is to give an account of the building this part of the Wall of Jerusalem. We are glad to give further information to any person or organisation interested. Please, write to us if God inspires you to. If God burdens you with the matters of Roaring Wind Foundation, please, spread the news of us. We are ready to send this information to any address we receive. Please, pray for the fellow-workers that God may protect and strengthen them, give them joy in this work and meet all their needs. Do pray for more fellow-workers to come but that these people may come because of God's calling not only out of emotional zeal, as soldiers are shot at in war and people having no spiritual conviction will fall out at the first difficulty. Please, pray for finances, too, because lack of money is one of the biggest obstacles. We have a lot to do and we don't know how much time we have, when the doors will be shut, when our Lord Jesus Christ returns, so we don't have time to wait until "things take shape". We feel great urgency in our spirits.

About 4 years ago we began to closely cooperate with B.L.A.S.T. Ministries, an Austria based ministry in publishing the teachings of the British Alan Vincent, a revivalist in India who has wonderful teachings on how to make revival, or rather community transformation happen. We also publish teachings by Pastor Franz Lippi, Founder of the above mentioned ministry who is working mainly in the Balkan countries of Europe but also in Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Within this coopreration we have published 14 audio sets of seminars held by this ministry and about 20 teaching booklets. We plan to continue this cooperation. We released the first courses of the International Curriculum made by Good Shepherd Ministries, in Hungarian. We still do the multiplying of the recordings for the groups. Some of them are:

Bayless Conley: The Foundations of Faith (This two-tape, five-session teaching begins the row of the recordings of the International Curriculum originally published by the Good Shepherd Ministries, USA. The intent of the creators was to prepare a video Bible School material that discusses most of the areas of individual and corporate Christian life. They want to provide a healthy overall vision that furthers the unity of the worldwide Church. They want to translate it into as many languages as possible to provide teaching to young Churches where there aren’t any ministry gifts developed yet, to new fellowships founded by missionaries so that these missionaries might have something to leave behind when they leave. But this material can be very useful for mature Churches, too, that can use it as a Bible School for their members. With all these aspects in mind the makers provide notes to the teachings as well. We have 11 teachings in Hungarian but the original series have about 180 hours of recordings and their number is continuously increasing. We plan to ask for further permission and master tapes, too. Within the 40/70 Window prayer movement we overdubbed and published the 17 audio tapes of the Gideon’s Army II Conference held in 2001 in Hannover, Germany.

We published the 8 video tapes of the German Fire-Conference organized by CfaN in Böblingen, Germany in 1999, the 5 video tapes of the CfaN Conference held at Vienna in 2002, where the Nigerian pastor, Daniel Ekechukwu shared his testimony on how he died and was raised up. We also published the 5 video tapes of the European Pentecostal Conference held by CfaN in Germany in 2003 and the 11 video tapes of the Karlsruhe CfaN conference.
